Summary: This position is responsible for taking work orders generated by Team Leaders under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Conducts equipment setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Responsible for the set-up of all equipment for production, as well as completion of equipment PMs during non-production hours. This position involves daily interaction with some or all of the following equipment: thermoformers, chamber sealers, inline wrappers, robotics, automated slicing equipment, pneumatic and vacuum fillers
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all equipment is set up for upcoming runs on production lines
- Ensure all die carts are PM'd and ready for use when schedule dictates
- Assist maintenance techs with lines PMs on maintenance work days
- Complete all equipment PMs
- Maintain production line tool carts
- Leverage Redzone application to manage communication and work load
- Assist second shift with teardown of equipment at end of production
- Support Sanitation department with any maintenance needs
- Perform repairs on production equipment as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have good communication skills and be familiar with CMMS's, Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to manage time and workload efficiently and independently
- Basic fluid power and electrical knowledge, ability to use and interpret a multimeter
- Understanding of/ and ability to use hand tools, basic shop tools and power tools
- Packaging and slicing equipment experience is a plus (Multivac, Labelers, Weber slicers and Grote slicers)
- Welding experience preferred
- Maintenance activities are conducted in a food safety certified environment so previous food experience is strongly preferred.
- Two years previous Production Line Mechanic or Technician experience OR equivalent technical degree or education preferred, OR production experience required.
- All hires will need to successfully pass a drug screen and background check
Work Environment:
- >50% of shift spent in refrigerated production rooms under 45F
- Ability to lift >75lbs on occasion
- Some overtime is expected in role
